If a parish is to thrive and grow, it must listen to and support its young adult population, both married and single. As a parish we welcome and encourage all young adults to become active members of the parish by taking part in liturgical ministries, attending adult formation opportunities, serving on parish committees, volunteering to provide service to others, and forming small faith sharing groups.
Rise! is a group of young adults, ages 20-35, striving for heaven through a personal relationship with Christ and intentional discipleship. We hold regular events which include weekly women’s and men’s bible studies, quarterly service events and Masses, monthly social events, and monthly faith formation gatherings called “Upper Rooms.” Some of our past events have included hiking at Maquoketa Caves followed by the drive-in movie theater, Trivia nights at Hy-Vee, cookouts and potlucks, an annual Christmas party, and watching the Dubuque fireworks together. Do you have a small group of friends that would like to add a faith element to your get-togethers? Do you have a running, crafting, or writing group that you’d like to open up to other young adults in the parish? If so, please call the parish office, 563-588-1433, or contact Linda Frommelt at [email protected] to learn more about how St. Joseph the Worker can help support your young adult group!
