The Sacrament of Reconciliation, sometimes called the sacrament of penance or confession, is intended to assist the Christian in becoming more Christ-like through the forgiveness of sin.
To learn when you can celebrate this sacrament, check out the weekly schedule. You can also call the Parish Office to set up an appointment.
First Reconciliation is ordinarily celebrated when a child is 7 or 8 years old. It is celebrated prior to the child’s celebration of First Eucharist. Receiving the sacrament is a culmination of much preparation at home as well as through opportunities at the parish and school.
The policy of St. Joseph the Worker Education and Faith Formation Commission is that a student has completed one year of religious education or Catholic school immediately prior to beginning this sacramental program.
