Homily for November 10
In his homily, Fr. Tom talked about how sometimes we try to “domesticate” Heaven. We think about it as an extension of this life and we make Heaven into what we want it to be. This can lead us to taking short cuts and not showing the love for God and others that we are called to have. Heaven should never be domesticated. Eternal life with God and the love He has for us is something “wilder,” deeper and more wonderful than we can ever understand. As you go about your week, reflect on Heaven in terms of God’s radical love for us and the love He wants us to show Him and others. How does this affect the way you look at life here and now?
