Holy Thursday Homily
In his homily for Holy Thursday, Fr. Paul talked about the mandate of service. When Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, He created the priesthood. Jesus shows the apostles that power is released through powerlessness and selflessness. He tells them to be servant-leaders. But it’s more than just priests. Jesus is calling each of us to be servants of God’s kingdom. When we receive the Eucharist and Jesus tells us to “Do this in remembrance of Me,” we are called to move from worship (remembering the Last Supper) to service (becoming what we receive and serving others as Jesus did). As we continue on through the Triduum, reflect on how you can be Jesus to others and on how you respond to Jesus’ mandate of service.
