Family Page – Easter Sunday
Welcome to the Family Page!
To help you and your family make the most of this weekend’s celebration while choosing to stay home in light of the pandemic, Ann has compiled some resources and activities for families. We hope you find them helpful!
Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
Before you begin your family time, bring out your Alleluia poster and display it in a prominent place.
This Week’s Readings
- Acts of the Apostles 10:34a, 37-43
- Psalm 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23
- Colossians 3:1-4
- John 20:1-9
Alleluia! Jesus is risen! Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were utterly amazed when they saw the empty tomb and then they were told that Jesus had been raised. How amazing that must have been! And, I would imagine, a little confusing! Invite the family members to close their eyes and imagine what those ladies must have been feeling.
The celebration of Easter brings us such joy. Because of the empty tomb we know that Jesus forever remains in our hearts. He lives through us…we are his hands and feet!
What to Do Next
Spend a little time looking at today’s psalm, too. “This is the day the Lord has made’ let us rejoice and be glad.” That verse really sums up what today is all about. We should be rejoicing, singing alleluia, smiling as big as we can, and “give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!”
Have a blessed Easter Sunday!
