The Parish Life Committee, along with help from many parishioners, makes the Lenten Buffets a great success and a great community gathering. The Lenten buffets are scheduled during Lent on two different Fridays, we invite the parish of St. Joseph the Worker along with the larger community of Dubuque to gather to eat, drink and enjoy each other’s company.
As well as bringing community together, this is also a fund raiser for different charities each year. In the past we have sent donations to: Camp Albrecht Acres, Keep Our Neighbors Warm (Black Hills Energy will match dollar for dollar), helped to pay for fuel to send a group of volunteers to the Hurricane Katrina area and to St. Vincent de Paul, just to list a few.
On Hospitality Sunday we encourage new parishioners to join us for donuts, bagels, juice, coffee & milk and meet other parishioners after the Sunday Masses. Hospitality Sunday is the First Sunday of the month (excluding June, July, August & October).
